  • Fourth generation computers were developed with a single microchip housing all computer components (Sewell & Thede, 2012).

 

  • The term, informatics, derived from the French, informatique, is introduced to define computer milieu (Saba, 2001)

 

  • Nursing informatics booms as its movement begins to sweep various cities, countries, units, communities, and healthcare fields (Saba, 2001)

 

  • Nurses increasingly influenced the design, implementation, and purchase of information systems (Saba, 2001).

 

  • In 1974, scholarly works around informatics were published in scholarly journals (Saba, 2001).
