Janice is a practicing registered nurse in Canada.

 

Janice graduated from Douglas College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2010. She is student of Athabasca University’s Master of Nursing program with a teaching focus.

 

Janice has clinical experience in orthopedic trauma, medicine, ambulatory care, endoscopy, medical day care, clinical informatics, and home health.

Currently she is a clinical nurse educator for a long term care facility.

 

Janice believes that the nurse informatics specialist role is invaluable to nursing.  The specialty of nursing informatics exhibits the complexity and diversity of nursing knowledge.  The contributions of nurse informatics specialists lead to safe, efficient, and effective patient care.  As nursing informatics continues to flourish, it is vital for all nurses to be aware of the instrumental roles that nurse informatics specialists play.  Nurse informatics specialists are in a special position to make significant changes and ultimately transform healthcare.
